I would be the first to admit that Bob Cooper and good time management have not always been the closest of friends. When I first started out as a web designer it was often very difficult to say no to a job, I’m sure we have all been there, you’re worried about the bills, so you take on anything and everything that comes your way. Before long you end up with nine websites on the go and never being able to finish any of them, your clients start complaining because you are taking forever to design a site that you promised would be done weeks ago, and in the meantime you are still not getting paid because your not finishing jobs. You’re at your wits end and working like mad for nothing, surely this is not how working for yourself was meant to be?
What you need is time management, here are five tips on how I find it best to manage my time.
I always use external text files for my websites. They make it much easier to update websites on the fly without going into a flash movie and searching for a hidden movie clip. Having spent too many hours re-coding the same functions into every new site I decided to build my own External Text class using Actionscript 3.
